Queenbbeee's Must Have's......

Must Have's for Spring......

"Who needs April showers to bring May flowers when there are tons of floral-inspired beauty products that will last a lot longer than real blooms?"

Mums the word: Brighten up your look in a flash with the Goody Sweet Blossom Ponypin -- it has an elastic band and a pin on the back. ($5.29; at Target) I have even bought some big artificial flowers, picked off t

Pineapple Orchid candle for an escape. ($12.50; bathandbodyworks.com)

Night Shades: I mix all four colors of the wet n wild i-sparkle blooming palette in Star Clusters to create a smokey-eye look for date night.
($4.99; at drugstores)

Good Scents: Bath and Body Works Bright Blossom Optimism Scrub may smooth skin but im hooked on it's aroma of tuberose and jasmine.

-CHEAP CHIC- Spring/Summer Must Have's: Bangels....

-CHEAP CHIC-

Spring/Summer Must Haves......

Popular in the "80s, oversize jewelry is making waves this spring. Statement
worthybangles add sizzle to any look. Even a basic tee looks fresh for
spring with a bold accessory like these bangles.

Bangles are a favorite of mine because they are simple, easy, inexpensive, and
stylish, which reflects my take on fashion as well.

Not the bangle type? There are a variety of bracelets and cuffs that you can
choose from to compliment any fabulous ensemble.

As far as style and design are concerned bright colors, global and ethnic inspired, and unique shapes are what to look for.

When it comes to how much you should spend it all depends on the piece itself. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $10 for a bracelet made of plastic. Should you feel the dire need to be stylish (or just wanna spend some extra money) here are a few choices for inexpensive and stylish bangles:

Thrift shops, resale shops, goodwill, and yard/garage sales are a great place to find costume jewelry..... super duper CHEAP! Have FUN Hunting!

How To...... Love Your Body

Love Your Body....

1.) Look in the mirror and list all the things you like.

2.) Vow a pact with a friend to avoid "fat talk," like asking, "Do I look fat in this?" or criticizing others.

3.) Keep a journal of all the good things your body lets you do, such as take a walk or hug your child.

How To.....Look Great On Little Sleep

I have always been good at complaining. Maybe that doesn't sound like a sparkling assessment of my personality, but I consider it a necessary life skill. Knowing how to get what we want is just one trick we need in our bag of skills. I will be posting several how to... blogs, on different goodies you shouldn't live without. Just a few essentials to make life a little easier.

If you have a how to... to share with the rest of us, or need an answer to a how to..., please post a comment below.

How To.....
Look Great on Little Sleep

Up late? No one will know if you keep your makeup simple.

1.) Start with a stick concealer, one shade darker than your skin, on under eye circles. Blend in by tapping gently with your middle or ring finger. Then add a coat of concealer one shade lighter than your skin; blend thoroughly.

2.) To open up eyes, add mascara and liner to top lashes only. (Color below the eye can run adding a shadow.)

3.) Finish with a peach or pale pink blush on the apples of your cheeks.

Don't forget to share your how to... tips with us all, add them in the comment section.

"How To Dress For a Wedding"

A wedding is a celebration, and your clothes should reflect that. The pictures of that day are going to be in the bride's and groom's lives forever, and beautifully dressed guests really help set the mood.

DRESS UP - Being under dressed is the worst feeling, so I'd rather overdo it. Even if an invitation says, "casual attire," the furthest you should take that is a floaty cocktail dress or a simple sheath. For a black-tie wedding, a long, formal dress is always appropriate, but if you'd rather go short, choose something knee-length in an opulent fabric. Silk charmeuse has a glamorous, '30s vibe and looks effortless but still fancy.

TAKE A HINT - The location of the event is a big clue about what to wear. If the wedding is on a beach in Mexico, it's pretty obvious that you should stay away from heavy beading. I love chiffon for a resort wedding. It's romantic, dreamy, and elegant. If the party is in a more traditional setting, like a ballroom or a country club, chances are the dress code will be more conservative.

EMBRACE COLOR - All black on a wedding guest is too severe. Jewel tones like peacock blue and emerald green are sophisticated and vibrant. Stay away from white, not just at the reception but at any weeding event, from the rehearsal dinner to the day-after brunch. That's the bride's territory.

STAY FOCUSED - Choose one item to build your outfit around, whether it's your shoes or an amazing piece of jewelry. You want to avoid looking as if you piled on every accessory you own. If you have a complicated dress with a lot of ruching or a bold print, keep the jewelry minimal. And those dyed-to-match shoes are a definite no-no---not everything needs to coordinate exactly.

DON'T GO FLAT - Heels are tricky at an outdoor wedding, but flats don't feel right with a formal dress. Wedges are great for lawn receptions. If a wedding is on sand, wear embellished sandals, though you can take them off and go barefoot.

All in all these are just some tips, wear what you like and what you will feel comfortable in, it most likely will be a long night.

Weigh-In for Week #1

So, this week I set small goals for myself. My goals were to 1) Get exercise at least 4-5x's this week, 2) Decrease my ice cream intake by at least half, 3) to keep a food journal of everything I ate or drank, and 4) to vlog any ups/downs I had throughout the week. I will be adjusting my goals weekly as needed.

This week I met most of my goals, I walked 1/2 a mile 4x this week, I reduced my ice cream intake by more than half, I did vlog 1x this week, but I did not start my food journal. I guess, 3 out of 4 aint bad, but could be better.

Well, the news we have all been waiting for...... Did i lose/gain weight?
I weighed myself Thursday afternoon, and I lost .5 lbs. I was somewhat disappointed because I thought I would have lost at lease 2 pounds but at lease I did lose.

This weeks goals are to.... 1) Walk at least 5-6x this week, for at least 1/2 mile each time.
2) Start my food journal, NO EXCUSES! 3) Reduce my ice cream in 1/2 again, to be 1/4 of the original amount. and 4) Keep you posted through my blog and vlogs on youtube.

Stay posted I hope to have a much better week this week!

Hey, it's O.K.!

.....to shave your legs only up to your miniskirt line.

.....to want to "misplace" his hair gel. Also, his mandals.

.....to to have never seen an episode of Star Trek -- or to have seen Every. Single. One.

.....to wear bikini bottoms when you haven't done laundry. (If they look like underpants, feel like underpants and act like underpants, they're underpants, right?)

.....to believe your scale in the morning, but not at night.

.....to have a major crush on Bruce Springsteen. Almost 60 and still rocking those screech-inducing jeans.

.....to stay in and do absolutely, miraculously nothing.

Let us know what you think it is O.K. to do......

How the heck do I.... FIX CHAPPED LIPS?

The new pigment-rich lipsticks are gorgeous --but only if your pout is perfectly smooth!

Step 1: EXFOLIATE

Grab a soft toothbrush, wet it with warm water, then rub it over your lips using a circular motion. Got lots of flakes? Sprinkle the brush with a little sugar to get rid of the dead skin.

Step 2: HYDRATE

Fruity flavors and scents are nice and all, but a lip balm with SPF 15 or higher is a must to protect against sun damage.
At night, lock in moisture with a heavy-duty ointment like Aquaphor or straight up Vaseline.

Two Bargain Lip Savers:

Vaseline 100% Petroleum Jelly ($2 US for 1.75 oz., at drugstores) or ($1 US for 13 oz., at local dollar stores, for an off brand):
Neutrogena MoistureShine Lip Soother SPF 20 in variety of colors ($7 US, at drugstores)

You can share your secrets on, how to get the perfect pout for summer, by leaving a comment below!

Thanks....

Coastal Scents Hot Pots vs. Palettes Cross Reference

I am sure that everybody knows about the new hot pots from coastal scents, but if you dont I will briefly explain. C.S. has come out with individual eyeshadows that are in pan form, similar to the pan shadows you get from MAC. They are around $5.00 a piece, and you can also get the empty palettes to put them in. They are the same size as the MAC shadows, and there are many MAC dupes for them. Enkore does a video telling us each dupe for each new hot pot, so check that out.

So, if you already have a palette from C.S. you may already have several of the colors that are now being sold individually in the new hot pot form. C.S. has provided us with a pdf format that has a picture of each of their palettes and then tells you which colors are now also being sold in hot pot form. http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/CrossReference.pdf Make sure to check this out before you purchase any duplicates and waste money.

If you really like a color and use it all up you can now replace it without buying an entire new palette. Or you can decide not to buy certain ones because you already have it in your palette.

This also answers the question I had, Were the new hot pots any better or worse than the palettes? Since, some of these colors are duplicates from the palttes I would imagine that they are about the same.

If you have any more questions leave them in the comment section below. I hope this helps some of you that are interested in the new hot pots.
